Default Beachwood ?

Hello people. Me and my wife have a 4 yr old daughter and had been looking for a nice, active suburb with good recreational activities and good schools. We've been looking at Beachwood and it looks great, nice homes and good shopping and restaurants and some great schools and doesn't look like a hellish commute to the city. But I just wanted to get some experienced confirmation on this, or if anybody has any other suggestions or recommendations for a good home. Thanks!

I lived in Beachwood before moving to the Southwest and, yes, it has excellent schools -- very competitive. In fact, the emphasis on education in this community is as strong as any place outside of the greater NYC or Boston area. Quality stores are close by as is an outstanding branch of the Cuyahoga County library system. Most important, the police and firefighters are active participants in the welfare of the community. Violent crime is extremely low and property crime is taken seriously and the culprits actively pursued. Plus, there are a range of home styles and a range of prices, plus condos and well-run apartments. And, two new city parks, plus a whole bunch of family-oriented recreational activities, including a fairly new pool/sports complex. So, why did I move? Beats the heck out of me!

Best of luck in your move.

I live in Rocky River which is on the west side but I work in Beachwood and can say it is a wonderful city with terrific schools and many nice amenities. I really love where I live but I would definitely choose Beachwood if I were thinking of making a move to the East side.
