Default Oberlin Job Offer

I was offered a job in Oberlin but have not accepted yet.

I'm wondering about the area and surrounding communities. can anyone tell me of good locations to scout out that would be in or near Oberlin.

I'm a single female without children.

Thanks

Oberlin itself isnt too bad. It is worse than the average city its size in Ohio though, but nothing to really worry about. The schools arent good but you dont have kids so you dont have to worry about that. Some good areas close that you could look at are Amherst, North Ridgeville, and Avon/Avon lake. Elyria and Lorain both have bad areas but nice areas also, however those are mid-sized cities so its going to be a lot more urban with urban problems.

It depends on what kind of area you want to live in. Most the areas south and west of Oberlin are very rural however when you go to the north and northeast/east you get into the more urban areas closer to Cleveland and Akron.
