Top 10 things to do before leaving Cleveland?
There seem to be a lot of natives here! I've never even heard of most of the things from the "only a Clevelander would know" thread!
We have lived in the Cleveland area for a few years and are relocating this fall, unlikely to return unless our home doesn't sell. In that case I guess we'll have a vacation home in Strongsville! Any takers?
I'm finding myself strangely sad at leaving and want to be sure we cover all the "must-do's" and "must-sees" before we leave. Uh, and we have a two year old who will be "doing" and "seeing" with us. Your suggestions?

rock and roll hall of fame, stroll through the metroparks, air show, authentic local restaurants (you'll be amazed every where else you go are chains), bridge tour, all the museums in university circle, catch a play if possible at the theatres downtown, eat pierogie's in parma, etc...

Metroparks. They are out your back door.
Take a stroll through one of the best art museums in the country.
Just sit on the ledges in Rocky River park on a cool night end of summer. That in of itself is wonderful.
Take your sig other other to Great Lakes Brewery or the Brew Kettle in Strongsville.

Boy this thread is bittersweet. I remember the sad and hollow feeling when faced with the prospect of leaving Cleveland three years ago for job reasons. Here's what I would recommend:
Indians game
Museum of Natural History
Botanical Gardens
A bike ride through North Chagrin reservation
Restaurants (all of which I still miss)--Anatolia, Peking Gourmet, Aladdin's, Yours Truly
Downtown Chagrin Falls
Stick around for that first lake effect snow of the season

Maple Syrup
Since you have a 2 year old, I would suggest going to one of those Maple Syrup events in the MetroParks. My mother took me when I was little and I still remember. Was actually trying explain this to my kids over pancakes here in Houston recently.
I would also suggest the Polar Express train ride in the Nat'l park just west of town, but sounds like you will leave before that gets started in November. The lottery for tickets should be going on now.

Thanks everyone!
I appreciate all the feedback. You've given us lots of great ideas. I am really disappointed we won't be able to take her to the Polar Express, she loves trains and would have a great time. Of course, with the lottery system, we may have to stay here 5 more years to make that happen!
One more question... Where would you go in Parma for pierogies?
Thanks again Cleveland, we'll miss you!

Go listen to the award winning choir in St John Cathedral's ( I think they start again in October)! And shop in the West side market! Also go to Stan Hywet's in Akron on a gorgeous day like today, and stroll the grounds. Just gorgeous!
