Hey there,
I hope I can help. Family and I are currently in Alabama for my husbands job. But we both grew up in N.Ridgeville and my Grandmother still lives there. Hope that qualifies me to help you!
First off...it's a cute little town, but mostly known for it's close proximity to Cuyahoga county, which is where most of the jobs are. The schools are average, one can find gripes and praises wherever they are. Property taxes are 2nd highest in Lorain county, we don't know why. The town is bursting with new developements sprouting everywhere and the main road thru town getting really clogged with traffic. That being said. These are problems that are minor. You are close to downtown Cleveland for arts&entertainment, sports etc. Close to Lake Erie if your into fishing or boating...which we were, da*n we miss riding on Lake Erie, and many MetroParks for hiking etc. It is a very safe area for kids in general.
Hope this helps

I grew up in North Olmsted & we made fun of Ridgeville but in the last 10 years (my sister has lived there with her family for the last 12 years) it has really changed. I think it's a good town for families & the schools can use work but it's nothing that an active parent can't handle (I'm also a science teacher & am impressed with what my 12 year old niece is learning). My sister lives in an older section (houses were built in early 70's) but there is a ton of new development!
I recommend looking for a couple guide books - best eats, day trips, things like that - on Northern Ohio. I haved there for 30 years & found a book about best ethinc rest. in the area & was amazed at all that was around that was interesting for the 20-30 crowd! Good Luck!

North Ridgeville is a growing area which is safe and family friendly. Probably the biggest negative is that it can be far from downtown (probably about 30 min or longer commute)
