Hillside is a complete and utter idiot. I have witnessed crimes in Lorain, I have been a victim of crime in Lorain, and two of my friends have been murdered in Lorain city limits... and the city isn't dangerous? Hmm... something doesn't sound right to me.

correction: lorain is dangerous, just not as dangerous as hamilton.
get my words right.
i understand ya'al grew up in this place, and probably have had friends and family took out on the streets. i don't doubt that. my thing is, i can't help it if you don't agree with the stats. there may be discrepancies, all stats are prone to error. that's why it's a statistic. an educated estimate. but for the last nine years, that educated estimate has said hamilton's crime rate is twice as high as lorain. the murder rate has been higher in hamilton previous to 2003. nine murders was an average year, if that. don't let your emotions blind good logic. 750 vs 375. i mean, come on. why is this still a conversation? i could go on all day about tragedy in hamilton, but it doesn't stand up unless i have a number to put behind it. 750. lorain's is 375. put it this way - an almost-tall skyscraper, or a giant.
i haven't heard anything meaningful from you or cle440 in a month of sundays. again, one of you begins to insult instead of prove. the one who hides is the one who lies....
Lets not forget that your the reason all of this started: "check out hamilton if you think lorain is bad...."-Hillside...First of all this thread had nothing to do with Hamilton, secondly you know nothing about Lorain, thats well known now. Hillside, you dont understand, and wont even consider, that your the one whos wrong.
Obviously by saying that, you were implying that Hamilton was worse than Lorain. Little did you know, Lorain was worse than Hamilton in every category, and I proved that. All youve been doing recently is ignoring all the other reasons Lorain is worse than Hamilton and using the last thing you had any evidence of, that Hamilton is somehow more dangerous than Lorain. Then of course we looked at the stats, and it was well known long before that, that the released crime stats for Lorain were well under what the actual stats were. Tell anybody that knows what average is and knows about Lorain that its crime rate is the US average, and you better bet you get laughed at out town. Then of course you stooped even lower and said "Lorain aint hard" and its not dangerous at all, said it had a low crime rate, and called me a racist, among other insults. Long before I did it. You were mad so you started to lie and disrespect a place you knew nothing about.
And lets look at the actual links that you gave us: the city-data and all like ones, are the same ones that are released. The only stat on there thats accurate in the least is murder, if even that. LPD/Lorain is very corrupt and regularly has officers/officials put in jail and prison, anything from stealing evidence, moving drugs, rape, etc. Those are the same people that report the stats, Im sure they would have no problem lying about them for whatever reason. Lets not forget that stats like that say every city in the US is more dangerous than East Cleveland, that speaks for itself. Not to mention they got Clevelands murder count wrong by 45. Then the other link ( http://www.enquirer.com/editions/200...amcrime31.html ) , which was from 2001 (had the same ones as city-data). That same link said Springfield was the most dangerous city in Ohio, and said that Hamilton was more dangerous than Cleveland and Youngstown. Come on now Hillside, even you know better than that. Thats the most ridiculous chart with crime Ive ever seen in my life. So as you see, I just proved every link you gave us wrong. Bottomline, Lorain is dangerous. We may never know the exact stats, but Ill bet anything that Lorains is over 700, more dangerous than Hamilton (625...).

YouTube - HARDBODY GMB
- Keep in mind that these guys are in no way fake. Also around that area there have been numerous murders over the years. There was a person who was sitting in a house killed by a stray bullet that went all the way through the wall. This is the same area Samir Abdul was talking about, So much for there being "nothing dangerous about it"...
These are Lil D (a rapper) and GI, from the westside of Lorain, the video is mostly around W23rd/Lexington, close to where I grew up, also some Cleveland shots:
This one is actually from the Southside of Elyria, the worst area in the city. Part of the video is right by my old street. You can see the projects south park, and Gas USA, the most infamous place in Elyria, murders happened right where there standing: MySpaceTV Videos: Thug City Athem OH 10 by 1/2 Amazin a.k.a True Story
- I heard from my friend on the southside that the main guy in this video is serving something like a 14 year prison sentence now, not sure how true that is. Lets just say, these guys arent fake either...
Again, Im not trying to make these areas look worse at all, this is how it really is in Lorain and Southside Elyria. Just trying to educate people and show you how it really is, its not nice, but this is home.
then why did the cincinnati enquirer use a similar number in that old article? i'm sure they have access to more "official" info.
cle440,
all you did was show a bunch of s**** local rappers, and in that thug city video, if dude is bangin blue so hard, why is it so much red in the back crowd? sounds like fake thug city, but thanks for the laugh.
man some of ya'll just sound easily intimidated....
Easily intimidated? Haha nah man. All I know is crime does and still will happen in Lorain, despite what your bigotry. Dudes I know didn't get murdered because it was such a nice place. And besides E. Cleveland and parts of Cleveland, Elyria and Lorain are the most dangerous areas of Cleveland area.

that's my whole point. NOBODY said lorain don't have high crime, i mean it's rust belt ohio, how good could it be? i grew up in the **** so i can pretty much picture it, you know what i'm sayin? it's just that i don't think it's quite as bad as some other areas in ohio of similar size. no doubt it's some crazy mess goin down seemingly all the time in lorain. i'm certain of it. but it's goin down elsewhere too, sometimes worse.
buckeye89, no doubt on internet thugs. lol
