Leaving Detroit, MI to work near Independence... (Cleveland, Lakewood: live, young professionals)

Hello All,

In case any you don't know, Detroit has a thriving music scene. I could count on going to a small venue to check out a rock show many times a week if I really wanted to. I'd like something similar within a few miles of where I'd live.

Also, I'd like to be able to walk around, whether it be getting groceries or going to a club, but not be too far from Independence. I will have my own car.

I wouldn't mind the main population of the area being 25-30 year olds.

Is there an area of Cleveland that has an equivalence to all this?

Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Lakewood has small rock venues, clubs, bars, groceries, etc all in walking distance in an area with many young professionals (25-30). It's the "Manhattan" of Cleveland you could say. Only downside is the 20-35 minute drive to Independence dependent on traffic. It is also a couple minutes from downtown Cleveland.

wesohood is rt on about lakewood.. if thats too far try the state rd. area of parma (jigsaw saloon good music venue) , and its just west of independence.
