Broadview Heights
We are relocating to Cleveland this month and we've narrowed our search to the southern suburbs. We keep hearing and reading that Broadview Heights is a nice place for a family with a young child, but no one ever says much beyond "good schools" and "good location." Can anyone give us the more information about the feel of the area and the people that tend to live there?
Thanks

I rent in Broadview Heights. Yes the schools and location are good. You are close to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, car services, etc. The neighborhoods are nice and well kept for the most part. The main drag (Broadview Rd) can be congested at times but it's not too bad
Its also directly south of Cleveland so its easy to get to both the west and east side of the city.

I'd like to hear more as well. We were checking out the cities along 82 (North Royalton, Broadview Heights, Brecksville) --- good access to the city and to family living in Hinckley. My wife grew up in Strongsville and likes that stretch of towns.
As a visitor, I liked the location and town center of Brecksville the best, but the housing stock seemed better in Broadview Heights and North Royalton. And obviously North Royalton is closer to 71 and South Park Mall FWIW.

North Royalton has a more out of the way feel. Rt. 82 can be packed on the way to the freeway. I loved it when I lived there. Only took 15 mins. to get to Parmatown Mall. South Park Mall is 5 mins or less. Schools are awesome, I loved my teachers there.
Can't say too much bout the other two. I've been in Independence, which is near Brecksville, and its really nice there. My sis got a house there and remodeled it-so nice! The cops are on top of speeding there.

Cactus Leaguer: I would recommend either Brecksville/Broadview Heights over Strongsville/North Royalton, because I would prefer the proximity to I 77 over I 71. You are just minutes from shopping in Akron, and although the distance is farther you will have a much less time consuming drive to the mall by takin 77 to Fairlawn than trying to drive a few blocks down 82 to get to Southpark Mall. and you can also be Downtown in 10 min when its not rush hour. You also have easy access to the turnpike as well as 271 if you do need to go to Columbus.

Decent shopping and nice plazas around Broadview and Pleasant Valley. The area seems much more ethnic to me than other Southern areas. I noticed a large Ukrainian community out there and encountered other Eastern European first generation immigrants. I like it.
