Cleveland Dilemma
Hello I have a Dilemma. I have made two posts about where to live/move to in cleveland ( I know its probably really annoying but theres nothing like getting help from people who live all over Cleveland.) Anyways I got the suggestion of the Heights and Shaker Heights is a consideration. I also thought about Lakewood, but now I do not think that is the place for me. My boyfriend and I are in our 20s and can afford at least 760 if it is in the right place but would prefer 700 or under for rent. So here is my dilemma I come from a small town and I really like that small town vibe, maybe more of a rural area or one that feels like it anyways. I fell in love with Olmsted Falls (but I think that is to far away from school/work). Also a MUST is that it has to be close to the Cleveland Metroparks this is a nessacity because I run (and when I say run I mean 10-12miles a day, not just a jog.) We like Strongsville and some other west side suburbs but he will be working in Beachwood and I am going to CWRU. We would be willing to commute 30min but would prefer to be closer. We also like the Cuyahoga Valley National Park but have not found any apartments around there that we liked. Finally the most important factor is safety I would like to be somewhere that I feel and be safe when I have to go for a run at 5am in the dark. Ok so if you have made it this far you are a Saint and thank you. I know I know I'm picky...but if you can give me any advice or help at all it would be greatly appreciated. So sorry this is so long and thank you for reading it and thanks for the help

Check out Brecksville, Sagamore Hills, Northfield Center, Macedonia Twinsburg and Aurora along route 82 east of I-77. Also you might like Hudson, although it would be a longer commute. I do remember a decent condo complex in Sagamore Hills on route 82 right by the Brecksville Metropark, a very safe and beautiful area.

Lakewood (West End) is right on the border of the Rocky River Reservation, a large beautiful park. I would go with Lakewood, especially with your price range. You will definately be able to find a house for rent for that price. I loved living there.

Check out Mayfield Heights and Chesterland a bit further east. THere is a huge metroparks area in Mayfield area (near progressive's 2nd campus on som center rd)that is beautiful and you can hop on 271 and be in Beachwood in 10 minutes. CHagrin Falls is the cutest town in the world and there is a metroparks area in Bentleyville right next door. It would be a 20 min drive into Beachwood. We live in Shaker and like it but if you want a more rural feel - there are better choices.

I think based on being at University Circle there is no way to have what you want and have a short commute. Suck it up for a couple of years for school, then move out to one of the rural areas as mentioned. Just about every square foot from downtown to 20+ miles out is developed in some manner or other. Chesterland is a good suggestion for the feel you might like, but try the 40 minute commute and you might not be so keen on it.
Good luck.

First cities that came to mind for me were Twinsburg, some parts of Solon, and Hudson.
