I am about 15 minutes from Mentor ( Madison) and it has been in the 50s-60s here during the day. It has been sweatshirt/jacket weather. Now, people are laughing that it "might" snow this week, but it wont stick because it is NOT cold enough. Today, it is beautiful and sunny here, but windy.

I doubt it will happen this year, but my uncle still lives in Chardon and in years past he has commented they've had snow by Halloween. I'd LOVE it! Chardon is about 10-12 miles southeast of Mentor.
EDIT: Woohoo! 500 posts! Is that a good thing?

Where? In NE Ohio? Heck, I'm sure it happens every year. Here in SW Ohio, that's a rarity. We don't usually get snow around here until late in January. Not to say it has never happened, but it's usually only a few flurries. But I'd LOVE living up there. I'm a total snow-freak.

This post is kind of late. Check it out on weather.com : 10 Day Weather Forecast for Mentor, OH - weather.com
The temperature says 43/36 for Mentor, it says a chance of snow, but its not likely. If it does snow at all it will melt as soon as it hits the ground. The rest of the week has high temps mostly in the mid-upper 50s and lows that dont go below 35 for Mentor. So thats good. I never lived in Mentor, so I cant tell you exactly when the first snowfall is. Most likely around November, and it usually wont stick on the ground at all until December, even in Mentor. From living in Elyria and Lorain, weve had years when there has been no snow (or at least none sticks on the ground) until after christmas towards january. So its not uncommon. Its really kind of unpredictable though.

He will be wrapped, although he has no idea how cold it can get, he doesnt believe he will need snow boots or a padded jacket, I cant wait until he calls and tells me has frost bite!
