Default Solon Public School district?

Hi, I am moving from Birmingham, Alabama to Cleveland.

I have two kids, 7 and 3 y-o. My friend recommend me to rent an apartment in the Solon city, which is east of Cleveland. Can anybody give me an idea how good or bad this choice would be?

Also, moving up from deep south to the great lake area would be quite a challenge for people like me, who have never left the SEC territory (I just moved from Memphis, Tennessee to Birmingham, Alabama 10 months ago). We have heated indoor pool here in Birmingham for all seasons, will I find this kind of facility up to the Cleveland?

Thanks

Default How about the indoor pool? Will they open in winter?

Thank you, Mike.

I actually got the following information the other day:

"Solon is well known for having an exceptional public school system. As of 2005, the school system had an 11.9 student-teacher ratio. In addition, Solon consistently ranks among the top schools in Ohio and the nation in standardized testing. Solon achieved a rating of 108.6 on the Ohio state performance index in 2007, the second-highest in the state. In 2001, Newsweek named the Solon Schools as one of the top 75 school systems in the nation.
In 2007, the United States Department of Education named Parkside Elementary School in Solon as a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School. Parkside is one of only 18 Ohio schools and 287 schools nationwide to receive this national recognition for the high levels of student achievement in the school. Arthur Road Elementary School also earned this designation in 2005.
The Solon Science Olympiad Teams of Solon High School and Solon Middle School are also very successful groups. The Middle School placed 5th overall in the National competition in 2004, placed 4th overall in 2005, and 3rd place overall in 2006. The High School won the national tournament in 1998 and placed 2nd overall in 2003.
The Solon City School district also takes in students from the neighboring village of Glenwillow."

So, I might find an apartment or home in Solon.

Being a die hard Tennessee and SEC fan, it is very hard for me to leave. But, I am going to work for Cleveland Clinic. How can I complain?

One more thing, there are city gym and pool that saying they have indoor pool:

My question is : will this indoor mean heated pool even in winter for citizen to use? If I am living in Solon, but work for Cleveland clinic, will I still be eligible for those facility?

Thanks

Michael
