E116th and Buckeye is a pretty rough area. Just be careful over there.

26-year-old Richard Villanueva killed Friday on Cleveland's West Side - Metro - cleveland.com

R.I.P. That area around W25th and Clark has been really bad lately. This is the 4-5 murder there in the past 2 weeks alone.

Yeah. She's not at the autism center. She works at the Giant Eagle over there. We drove her to work the past couple mornings and it wasn't so bad. All the roads she needs to go down off the highway are main drags. I'm just worried about her leaving at night. For now she is just mornings/afternoons.

I was hoping we were just overreacting, being suburbanites. She was working at the Giant Eagle right by our home, and they said if she didn't take this transfer she wouldn't be able to collect unemployment. The rest of the house already got laid off, so she couldn't quit. It's so ****ty.

That's a pretty bad situation.

I wish I could tell you it was a great area or not as bad as everyone says, but no it's pretty bad over there. I had a family member who was robbed in that area in broad daylight when they stopped at a gas station, there was people around but they didn't do anything to help (what could they do really though?). Then again she might work there for years and have nothing bad happen to her.

I hope everything turns out okay though.

Arm yourselves, take the classes (all the gunstores can tell you what to do and there's plenty of girls doing it already). At least then she has some way to respond effectively to an attack, if she's in her car. At work she should carry whatever they will allow: mace, taser, etc.

You can install plastic film over the car windows (the windshield comes with it from the factory). Hurricane film works best, but you have to install it yourself. Next best is stuff they sell and install at auto detail places. If someone tries to break her car window, it should hold together longer. So, she can get away.

You can put a heavy duty tire sealant in the tires. That way she's much less likely to get stranded. You may feel a little vibration on the freeway, but it's worth it.

Point is, you never want to break down, but if you do, you should be prepared to handle it yourself (ie, carry the rechargeable batteries that will jump start your car, always have at least 1/2 tank of gas, know how to change a tire quickly). Secondly, always be prepared for a criminal attack, then, it isn't so scary.
