Thread is about specific crime in Cleveland, if you want to discuss race and crime, take it to P&OC.

I have worked through some of the posts and links admitedly I haven't read the whole thread, does anyone have a running total of murders in Cleveland?
P.S. The race issue is obviously a touchy subject, but is there a way to discuss possible causes of crime and use whatever tools necessary? I suppose if you say that "race (a)" does this and that because of these things someone should provide some sort of evidence.
I guess I am saying let people speak their minds if they can give strong reasons for the their arguement even if we do not like what they say.

BTW ^^ That link you posted Rockmysawks, is actually from the WEST side, not east. I know it was cleveland.com's misprint, but it is fixed now. RIP
What are we at again? Cle440 had it at 41-47 on 5/20/2009. We are certainly higher than that now. I'd say we are nearing mid 50's... with the worst part of the year coming up (besides December).

I'm not sure of the exact count. I would guess mid 50s as well.
Cleveland.coms homicide map was keeping up with them well for a while, but is now missing around 10-15 in NE Ohio. It shows 47 for Cleveland, but it's even missing the murder on W130th a few days ago.

If you think Cleveland crime is bad, Youngstown will make you appreciate Cleveland.

Most stats and people will show that Cleveland is more dangerous or around equal in crime rate to Youngstown. http://os.cqpress.com/citycrime/City...8_Rank_Rev.pdf
The reason Youngstown gets such a bad rap lately is because of the very high murder rate, Clevelands is usually 25-30/per 100k while Youngstowns is usually 35-45/per 100k. Both cities are very rough though. I hope we can get cleaned up because this environment and image is not helping us at all.
