Thought that's why this thread exists? So we would have a total?
Also, who is following up with the shootings that don't kill someone to see if those people make it or not.

We'll I've been gone for a while so I haven't been able to keep track of all that's going on. I was in Detroit for a month, came back for a short time, left to Chicago for over a month, now Im back for a short time before I go back to Chicago for a couple more weeks and then on to Upstate NY for a few weeks.

Another recent one in Cleveland.
23-year-old Parma man fatally shot Saturday on Jeffries Avenue on Cleveland's East Side | Metro - cleveland.com - cleveland.com

I know there's been 1-2 more murders in Elyria since I've been gone and 3-4 more murders in Lorain also.

I have no clue how many murders Cleveland has now but would guess it's somewhere around 90? maybe more?

Default 6 plus bodies found in Cleveland

Police stationed outside house on Imperial Avenue where bodies discovered | Metro - cleveland.com - cleveland.com

They found at least 6 bodies at the mans house off of Kinsman near 123rd. Appears to be a serial killer. RIP. If you add those to the current count I believe it's near 100 now.

Lorain has also been doing bad this whole year. The Central Lorain neighborhood alone is averaging a shooting everyday. Six people have been shot in that neighborhood in the last 9 days, and 2 were killed in June. There's also been 2-3 murders in Lorain the past 2 months. Police are calling Central Lorain a "combat zone".
More shots fired in Lorain: Police beefing up patrols in response Morning Journal: Serving Lorain, Erie, Huron and western Cuyahoga counties

This kid committed suicide. My sister knows his mother. Seriously.
So whoever is "keeping track", make sure you scratch that off the "homicide" list.

I am only trying to point out that those who think they are counting the homicides in the hopes of somehow proving that stats aren't reported correctly need to recognize maybe the stats ARE reported correctly or are not as "off" as you think they are.
How many homicides were later found out to be something else? But if you aren't following up with many of these how can you ever hope to "prove" anything is being misreported?

Not trying to start another debate.... just saying.

RIP JB.

Good point. I haven't had time to keep track of all these (was in Detroit for over a month came back for a short time then went to Chicago/Milwaukee for over a month just came back a few days ago and am going back again then on to Upstate NY for a few weeks).

There was also one in Elyria which I'm not sure of. This little girls brother found his older cousins gun and accidentally shot and killed his sister. They first called a homicide but now they're saying it's not (some places still count it though).

As far as the misreporting, it was mainly for the city of Cleveland. The police department and city itself reported everywhere that there were 134 (or 135) murders in 2007 and then when they turned in the stats to the FBI they changed it to 90.

A lot of cities consider accident shootings homicides -- by definition.
