What does this have to do with Frank Jackson? Why are you mad at him, hopefully not about the murder rate. He didn't kill those people, and his forced hand of increasing police patrols and hiring back all of the police fired by Jane Campbell led to a decrease in overall crime for the last two years, and a decrease in murder last year.

I take it you don't understand Frank Jackson do you?
He is a terrible mayor. He does not get out and reassure the public of what is going on in the city, and what HE is doing to make sure things get done and what is happening. He sits in city hall picking his nose looking out towards the lakefront. We need a mayor who goes public and informs the people of what is going on.

I am not saying that Frank Jackson has a role in the murders, but he needs to get out and tell the city what he plans to do/ what he is doing to bring crime down.

Traveler 87, he did that, I note when and how. He also recently stated that there will be two new police acadamies this year so that means more cops. And he balanced the city budget so that we can keep all the cops and still hire more. He has done more than Campbell ever did, he just doesn't crave all the attention. I don't agree with everything he has done, but he really cares about the city as he has lived here and in some of the worst neighborhoods of Cleveland. Suburbanites don't realize how many challenges he has to deal with and a lot of the good he has done, behind the scenes. Your comments are ignorant and uninformed and basically boil down to namecalling. State some intitiatives that he has pushed forward and how you disagree with him, or give concrete examples of what he has done wrong. Than at least you can make an intelligent argument.

10-15 murders in a year in a city is low. I agree that we don't have good leaders in the Cleveland area, and there is a lot more that can be done. However, take a look at Jacksonville's murder rates, and other "smaller" cities across the country. In 2007, Jacksonville had over 60 murders. (people are still flocking there for weather though)
