I am looking for a place somewhere to the south or east of Cleveland, within a 3-4 hour drive. I'd like to get a house with some land (10-40 acres)for small-scale organic farm/gardening. Can anyone point me toward places or resources that would be good to check-out?? Really want to settle in area that would be tolerant and friendly to a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle.

A 3-4 hour drive would include most of Ohio and some of Pa. I think you'll find that there are many areas w/in an hour of Cleveland that would suit you need for farmland. I'm not so sure about the vegetarian/vegan thing, but i doubt most farmers would have a problem w/you living that lifestyle.

Yeah 3-4 hours is most of Ohio. You could find plenty of places like that within 1-2 hours of Cleveland.

I would suggest areas in these counties: Portage, Trumbull, and Wayne. Really any more rural county south or west of Cleveland though.

You should look much closer than that. You could look in Chardon, Munson, Kirtland, parts of Russell, Aurora, parts of Bainbridge. Geauga County would be a great place for you to look. YOu would be into Indiana, PA, south Ohio for the distance you are looking for. If you want to be near Cleveland, you have great options within 30 minutes to 1 hour. The counties mentioned above are good too. Just don't pass up looking in Geauga.
