More qusries
Dear all,
thank you all for ur responses.
I do have little problem. My family will be staying in Pittsburgh and hence I am looking for a house which is on east side and preferably towards pittsburgh , safe and not more than 30-40 minute drive from metrohealth.
As I understood from previous posts Solon is one great choice, but isnt it more costly. my budget was around 150 K for 2-3 Bdrooms.
Any other specific suggestion.
Thanks to all of you in advance

Two great suburbs that are a little further SE would be Aurora and Twinsburg. You should find home prices more resonable in these areas.

I would highly consider looking into Mayfield Hts. It has easy access to all interstates, is safe and has a wide range of homes and price ranges.

North Royalton.....and I have a nice house on the market! Very safe neighborhood, good schools, on the busline, between both freeways (77 and 71), close to library....2700 sq ft, finished basement with extra kitchen, all appliances included with buyer incentive offers! Look us up on Realtor.com address is 5321 White Swan Ct. Very Low utilities and very very safe neighborhood!!!

Hello - I am also moving to Cleveland and am a single female really concerned about safety. I looked at a great apartment yesterday across from Cleveland State University on Euclid Ave. Any thoughts as to whether this is a safe area? Is walking in this area at night alone ok? Really appreciate any input!!!

Good places on East Side
India,
If you want to be on the East Side near the highway access, like another post said, I recommend Mayfield Hts. It's getting to have a higher traffic volume, but is affordable, has lots of conveniences for shopping, gyms, restaurants, etc., and great highway access. Just a few minutes to the west of Mayfield is Lyndhurst, where I used to live. Again, very affordable and convenient. I loved it there, and it tends to be a bit less traffic congested than Mayfield.
If you don't mind driving a bit further to work (45 minutes) you could consider living south east of Cleveland. Kent and Stow, Ohio are about 45 minutes southeast of Cleveland. Stow has better highway access than Kent, but from Kent Pittsburgh is only about 1.5 hours, and highway access from Kent to Pittsburgh is easy. I used to live in the Kent/Stow area. Both are nice communities, affordable, safe, etc. You could definitely find something in your budget in any of these areas.
Aboddy15,
Is it important to you to be near Cleveland State? I love the East Side, and as someone who lived in Cleveland as a single female I'd recommend the Cedar/Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Hts. It's just a short drive down Carnegie to get to downtown Cleveland. You can definitely walk alone at night in this part of the Heights. Don't know much about Euclid Avenue, as I've never lived there, so sorry that I'm no help with that.

The Sussex and Fernway neighborhoods of Shaker Heights would be worth looking at. They have properties in the $180K range and are very safe with good streetlights and neighbors who look out for each other. Good luck looking!

I don't believe she can get a 2-3 bedroom house in West lake or Solon or Breskville 9this area is more expensive) for 150K.Maybe a bit later when the house prices will go down. But you can get a nice house in parma, parma hts, Middleburg hts.
Take a look at realtors.com

I live in Mentor and it's absolutely AMAZING. It has everything stores, restaurants, great schools. I believe it's a lot nicer than Willoughby, Eastlake, S. Euclid. I have friends that live in all of them. Mentor has great schools and great teachers though. They had the money problem because of someones mistake...but it's better now. It didn't effect the school. I love it...

Shaker Heights ranked #11 in best places to live on the Eastern Suburbs category of the Plain Dealer, our local newspaper.

Good luck with your move.
