Red face Best Doctors in Cleveland?!?!

Hi Everyone,

I just got a job in Cleveland and need to pick all new Doctors. I have Aetna medical insurance and am a female in my 20's. I'm not sure if I will be living on the East or West side yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, you have Aetna insurance which seriously limits your choice of doctors and hospitals. My wife has had a lot of problems because fewer and fewer doctors are accepting Aetna insurance. In the past eight years, she has had three doctors go "out of plan".

One warning. Prior to heading off to a doctor, make sure that they are in the plan (or are still in the plan). My wife had some tests performed only to find out that they no longer accept Aetna insurance - which cost us an additional $600.

Now to answer your questions, we had good luck at the Cleveland Clinic hospitals, especially Lakewood Hospital.

Thank you so much. I heard we will be getting a new plan in July so hopefully my company goes with a different insurance.

Cleveland magazines post their best Dr's list. What type are you looking for?

I am sure that it is listed under Cleveland Magazine somewhere.
What type of Dr are you looking for?
I can give you the name of some of mine as I am sure others here can as well.

To start off just a regular family doctor and a dentist.

The most awesome dentist I have ever come across is Dr. Jim Cuglewski
5998 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134 440-884-0640
He is wonderful, so gentle, caring, funny as can be and fair. I have been to many different dentists over the years and he has the best touch.
As for a family Dr. I would decide what part of town you will be in first before I go looking for one. You don't want to drive 20 minutes when you are ill to see him.
Dr. Jim is about 45 minutes away from me and worth the drive.

If you are looking for an OB/Gyn, one of the best here is Dr. Gita Mehta. She is located right off the freeway (I-271) by Beachwood/Pepper Pike on Cedar Road. She has been my doc for a very long time, delivered my child c-section and has performed a minor surgery on me. I have recommended her to at least 10 people over the years, and each person has loved her and remained a permanent patient. I have also spoken to people in her waiting room that have moved here from other cities such as NYC, and those women were referred to Dr. Mehta by their doctors. If your insurance doesn't cover her, I am sure you will find someone good. Healthcare is definitely a Cleveland strongpoint! I hope all goes well for you.
