Charlotte was on a recent list of most miserable cities. I'll pass.
I never knew how bad things were in Northeast Ohio until the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce started sending people to the Ohio boards to let us all know.

I was born and raised in Cleveland and have been living back and forth from there to So. Cal for years.
I had not been back for 12 years and went back in 07. I was shocked! at what I saw. My lovely city was GONE! I was so saddened by this and could actually feel the depression there. Yet, after being home for some months, what I found still there was the greatness of the people. That had not changed. I went to look at homes and people had me in their houses in the neighborhood, friends that I went to high school with had me over for dinner, people called and offered help when a relative was injured. Their was a lot of stability there. I loved having such history with the people there.
So after awhile, I could see past the economic downturn and see what is really improtant to me in life.
Cleveland still rocks.

[quote=jam40jeff;8839497]WHat is with this "chasing businesses away" talk?
One proof in history: Cleveland did somehow chase BP headquarter away to Chicago.
Proof material:
Schumann's Cleveland: BP moves out: the long term (14 August 1998)

I think this can be called global rudeness. Everywhere else are changing, not only just happen in Cleveland.

I'm not so sure what you mean Kasey, I have lived here all my life. Many areas of the city have seen a resurgence. Downtown, Ohio City, and Tremont are at the nicest points they have been since WWII. Downtown especially has seen an influx of residents. I would venture to say that although some areas of Cleveland may be strugglign more now than in the past, other areas hit rock bottom in the 70s and 80s, and have been on the upswing since (did you ever go to Ohio City in the early 80s?)

You see this pattern all the time. Guy can't cut it in a city, guy moves to a new city, guy reps old city but says "things have changed," "it's a good place to be from," "the blacks ruined it," etc. to cover up for the fact that he couldn't hold down a job there. One of the most pathetic characters in America today.

It puts a smile on your face because you hate Cleveland.
But anyways, the Cleveland police haven't gone on strike in years.
