Default Ohio license plate installation

My cars don't have a ready place on the front to install the plate, should I DIY to drill or use garage service?

Strange, my other two plates from different states don't need a front plate.

While you technically can get warned (even ticketed) in Ohio for no front plate, my primary non-snow car has no place for a front plate and I've been driving it without a front plate frequently in Ohio for the several years with no problems. I've a received a few speeding citations as well as a speed warning or two (with not ticket) from Ohio state troopers and local PD. At no time did the police even mention the lack of front plate.
I don't think my case is luck; I really don't think the police care about that particular regulation. They may use it to put the screws to you if you are doing something though.

Edit: if you don't want to chance it, I'd look for a factory install kit for your car rather than drilling holes or allowing someone else to jack up your car. Most cars have a means of attaching a front plate you just need to buy the holder, they usually attach via bolts already in place.

Steve

I know a few people with Ohio State Buckeye plates on their front, Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bearcats, etc. They have not been ticketed... YET. But if anything, check a local car dealer of what the make of your vehicle is, they probaly have a front license plate bracket made for your car.

Thanks, guys. I just moved into Ohio few months ago.

I have 2002 Corolla and 2003 Camry. Both were purchased in Tennessee, where I did my school.

Later on, I transferred the Camry title to Alabama, where I found my first job.

Both states demand no front plate, rear plate would be more than enough.

Generally, Toyota will install those at no cost when you take your car in for scheduled service.
