Default Inspired from another thread... Walkable areas

Most walkable areas in Cleveland?

I found some 80s in Lakewood. Center Ridge in Rocky River scored a 91, the highest I've searched so far.. can anyone find the 'most walkable' area in Cleveland?

Those walk scores simply measure how many different types of things are within a certain distance of an address, and give heavy weighting to libraries and theaters. This is some of the picture of walkability (abundance of destinations), but they don't take into account how actually walkable an area is. In other words, are there sidewalks, are there crosswalks or do you have to go 1/2 mile down the road to cross, are the roads wide, high-speed highways, are there fences between every establishment and seas of parking, forcing you to walk 1000 ft to get to the Taco Bell right next to the library, etc.

I could see downtown Hudson scoring fairly well. Lakewood tends to score very well, as does downtown (obviously). I believe some areas of Cleveland Heights score well, too, such as around Lee Rd. (thanks to theater, library, CVS, and Zagara's). The east end of Rocky River will give you some high scores in parts, too.

The other thing to remember with the Walk Score is that it only does good for people that live there. It's not so great if you have to drive to the walkable area (aka lifestyle center). How many people live right at Center Ridge and Wagar?

900 Superior ave. (9th and Superior, middle of downtown) is a 100, took me about 2 minutes to find a 100 score.

yeah, in retrospect, i can see how hudson could score well; within a quarter mile of my parents house, there are two grocery stores, a library, and an insane amount of restaurants, shopping and bars. I guess its because i thought of hudson as a whole (my family lives in an old house right in the center of the village) and how generally suburban it is....

A lot of people live right there a lot of townhomes and apartments.. it's a heavily populated area... There are 4 high schools within a mile of Center Ridge and W210... also there is a RTA hub and I know many of the people in that area arrive and leave via RTA... a lot of foot traffic, especially this time of year.

I know it's Downtown still, but the new 668 Euclid Ave Apts scored a 97.

That doesn't include what's going in the storefronts on the first floor....convienence store, resturant/deli/bakery, 24-hr fitness center, and the possibilty of other amenities such as a "juice bar, health food counter, and a tanning salon"
