Is it possible to get an apartment without a lease in East Cleveland?
Hello people, I am looking to move out on my own. I need a place in East Cleveland (Euclid, Mentor, Willoughby, Eastlake...) that would let me pay monthly from month to month without a contract. A friend of mine has a spot like that, but there are no empty apartments in that complex, so I have to keep looking.
Any info would be great,
I am looking for a place for 400 - 500 a month.
Thank you

The places you mentioned are in Lake County....East Cleveland is a city itself and VERY different. So if you are looking at rental ads and it says East Cleveland that is NOT Mentor, Willoughby, etc...
The answer to your question: Doubtful. A landlord would be stupid to rent w/out a lease, so unless it's a personal friend I'd highly doubt it.

ohhhhh....I thought he meant the city "East Cleveland" too.
Yeah, that's gonna be tough. You'd probably have to at least do a 6-month lease somewhere.

From my previous experience as a renter the only places that do month-to-month are not in particularly desirable neighborhoods - coincidentally, neighborhoods like East Cleveland (city).
Some will not advertise but you could inquire, particularly of individual landlords (not management companies). If you are willing to pay a premium for a month-to-month some may be willing to do that for you.
Part of the problem is that clean-up expenses can be the same for a month-to-month or short-term renter as they are for a long term renter which cuts into profits. Also I'm sure with the way the economy is landlords are more anxious than ever to lock their renters in to a commitment.

EDIT: Euclid isn't in Lake County but there are lots of duplexes there, certain areas are better than others.

Highland Hills effiency suites start at $380.00 dollars with utilities included. You can also rent on an month to month basis. It is also attached to the police station so you will feel safe.

Oh, of course you can get an apartment without an lease in East Cleveland I did. On WoodWorth right off of 137th street in the Kayla apts. East Cleveland is full of shady characters from law enforcement to land lords. Work your hand if you really want to live there.

yes, i actually meant eastern side of cleveland rural area, so yeah lake county, and only some parts of euclid, which is in cuyahoga.
now i know there are no ads for those types of rentals in rural area, but there has to be a way, because money talks, and like someone said in this economy, i think some landlords would be willing to go for it? does anyone have any experiences or even better, a recomendation.
and yes, i am trying to be in lake county, not in painesville though...
thank you
