Question Thinking of Buying A home In Amherst OHIO ( need advice)

I live in east ohio now between cleveland and pittsburgh.... i work for home depot so it doesnt matter where i live in the usa i can transfer .... but my fiance is getting her healthcare admin degree and i would really like to move to a place to raise our child that would have a very good chance of her finding a career quickly.... now most everyone is telling me to move to raliegh NC because of the healthcare there but im not very excited to leave my home state and it seems like everyone is saleing out i bet some come back once they find out the south isnt all that great ( i lived in SC for 4 years) ..... i grew up in lorain which was ok and live a nice quaint small town now..... i always liked amherst and now its affordable .... can anyone give me a break down of the public schools in amherst, and how many hospitals are within a half hour drive? i dont know that Nc would be the better choice because cleveland does def have its fair share of healthcare opprotunities... kind of the crossroads now

Amherst public schools are some of the highest rated in the entire state and currently have a 99% graduation rate.

Here is some information about them: Schools in Amherst Ex Vill School District | GreatSchools
That shows how good the schools are and how they rank, test scores, racial makeup, etc. Just click on the school or the right to compare the schools.

I'm not sure exactly how many hospitals are within a 1/2 hour drive, but I'm sure it's at least 5. If you go 45 minutes that number will be over 10 so I'm sure there's some place your fiancee could find work at.

I grew up in Lorain as well along with Cleveland and Elyria. Amherst is definitely a nice small town.

From Rt 58, you would be within 30-40 minutes of Lorain Community, Elyria Mem, Allen (Oberlin), Firelands (Sandusky), Fisher-Titus (Norwalk), St. John W Shore, Fairview, Lakewood, Lutheran, Southwest, Parma, St Vincent, and Metro. Plenty of people do the commute to CCF and UH too.

A friend of mine just completed her nursing degree and had her choice from 4 offers from area hospitals. I should add, the only 4 she applied at.
The market for healthcare is the lone bright spot in this regions economy.
