Article about Cavaliers
I am writing a newspaper article about the Cavaliers. It relates to LeBron's future and the new Chinese minority ownership stake.
Are there any fans who would be willing to share a few thoughts with me?
We are not a newspaper located anywhere near Cleveland, so I have no base of Cleveland sources from which to draw. (And hence I'm searching online.)
I will be more specific about the questions and, of course, what publication it is if you IM me. It's due Wednesday, so if you are willing/able to discuss it with me, please message me as soon as possible.
Thanks very much.
James

Not really, actually was announced a couple of months ago, towards the end of their playoff run. Think the national media downplayed/ignored it some b/c they want to be able to write countless amount of articles about Lebron's impending free agency the next year.

Hi, James: As a Chinese myself, I don't consider Chinese-American are "minority ". Because we demand no affirmative action to get into Ivy schools and we don't protest onto the street for civil right issue.
As for basketball, there have been four Chinese players playing in NBA.
They are Wang Zhizhi for Clippers and Heats
Batier for Denver and Saint Antonio
(Above two have the nba rings, how about these?)
Yao ming for Houston Rocket
Sun Yue for LA Lakers
It's the love of sport and man-hood that bring strong ownership, not some minorty attraction.

Um, I think you misunderstood what the term "Chinese minority ownership" meant. It simply means that a group of Chinese investors bought a small % (think it was between 10-15%) of the team, and that Dan Gilbert is still the majority owner.

Yeah, there are indeed some Chinese rednecks around.
I happened to live in a town that is one small hill next to a town holding kkk parade annually.
For some reason, I manage to survive.
Next time, find me in the solon pool, ask for the guy who do butterfly everyday.
Thanks and you have a nice day.

Then, what can minority do to a small share?
Actually, that Chinese minority (not the cultural minority) owner is from the same town that I am from in China. To refresh my memoery, this country hold 2 trillion us $ = 1/8 of the gross USA economic volume (GDP) in bond or stock.
To my understanding, he is kind of the guy supervising GM Ferry. And, I think the coach squad will change in the coming season.

^^The chinese minority wants to make money too--so they will most likely market Lebron, Shaq and the Cavs to the rest of China. This is a great deal for everyone involved.
