Default Info on relocating to Cleveland area

I'm sorry to repeat what many others are posting but my husband and I are planning on moving to Cleveland in the fall-early winter. We will be moving from the Louisville, KY area and we can't get out fast enough. We have been to Cleveland several times in the last few years and we love it because it has both an east and midwest feel to it. We are planning on buying a house. We want an area close to the city, diverse residents, and at least moderately safe. We don't have kids yet but hope to soon so keep that in mind. We really like the Heights area but are open to looking into any suggestions. Any help is greatly appreciated. We also are looking for a good realtor if anyone has any suggestions there too. Again, we really appreciate any and all help. Thank you!

Ohio City, Shaker Square, Conventry Village would all be nice and probably meet your needs. However, for a more urban perspective, I recommend posting at:

www.urbanohio.com/forum2

This site will give you a much better perspective from residents that live the urban lifestyle in the areas you may be considering moving to, and they can also give you helpful street-by-street or house-by-house advice.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohio City is City of Cleveland. The schools stink and the cops are very very lazy.

Shaker and Cleveland Hts offer much better city services, better schools and a more stable, yet diverse, community. Ohio City only offers the most as far as being urban.

The big downer for Shaker / CH vs Ohio City is Shaker/ CH gets more snow on lake effect days. On balance, Shaker/ CH wins hands down.

Hi -- Since you asked for a REALTOR, I specialize in the Heights and with relocation buyers. I create a custom home search website for each buyer and am very knowledgeable with most areas of Greater Cleveland. If you private message me, I'll be happy to send you links and other information that you will find helpful. My family and I just vacationed for a few days in Louisville -- my daughter is an equestrian and we saw the night racing at Churchill Downs, went to the Louisville Slugger factory for my son and experienced a "hot brown". :-)
