Man! Thanks for the memories!

I remember "Kenny Kings" fondly! The one, I believe...either in Brook Park or Parma was the one we went to.

I always think of Dick Goddard and the Wooly Bear Festival when we go to a custard joint here in Fort Worth Called "Woolley's." It has nothing to do with Wooly Bears...but, I just always remember it! LOL!

Some other things that only a Clevelander might appreciate that I didn't see mentioned:

West Side Market
The Flats
Goodtime II (or III)
Fred Griffith and Liz (I can't remember her last name) and the Morning Exchange
Malley's Chocolates
The Gene Carroll Show
St. Patrick's Day Parade
Dorothy Fuldheim
The Old Arcade
Polka Bands at weddings held inside a UAW hall
Chippewa Lake
Franklin Castle

I'm sure there are plenty more! But, this is all I can think of off the top of my head!

YES!! I remember those! I remember in the 80s when Zayre's would stay open all night around Christmastime. One year they were getting a shipment of Pound Puppies in...and, I was shopping in the middle of the night. There was a long line of people waiting to get one of these "toys"...and, I had NO idea why they were such a big deal! I wish I had grabbed one while I was there! LOL! Maybe it would be worth some $$ today.

Halle's...my first job in the gift-wrapping dept!

Neisner's in LKWD on Detroit

A lot of grocery stores have been mentioned...how about the A&P?

Dairy Dell

Cleveland Zoo keys ...and when the gorilla section did not have glass enclosures...yikes!...lol

I drive by places to this day and flash back to what it once was....

What?! No more Westgate Mall? That was my FAVORITE mall!! Next thing you are going to tell me is that there is no more Westgate Lanes to go bowling.

As far as the Zoo Keys! OH MY!!! I LOVED my Zoo Key!! I had it FOREVER until some goon robbed my mom's house in the 1980s and took it (along with other valuables). Definitey a fond Cleveland memory.

Yep...sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Westgate Lanes is a thing of the past too......I think it's an RTA station now....which makes me wonder how many other Bowling Alleys will be biting the dust...no pun intended... due to the no smoking ban???
We spent many a Friday nights at "the lanes"....

Another thing I'm kind of shocked to see gone is the Memphis Drive-In...that was another favorite thing to do on a weekend.

Other things:

-Hough Bakery
-The Air Show
-The talent show hosted by Don Webster the original "weather man" on channel 5
-Dancing Danny Wright (radio DJ)
-Daffy Dan's T-shirt shop on Clifton
-The Cardiac Kids!...Brian Sipe
Does anyone remember the display of dinosaurs at Southland, way back when???
