My Dad was the advertising guy for Uncle Bills! Sweetest Day, that's only celebrated in Cleveland! I got my girl scout badges at Federals Dept Store. Clay Matthews, #57.

Question lunch at higbee's

Does anyone remember the "hobo" lunch from Higbees your meal was wrapped in a red bandana attached to a stick. Like a runaway. Or is this a figment of my imagination

Question lunch at higbee's

Does anyone remember the "hobo" lunch at Higbees. Your hamburger and fires would be wrapped in a red bandana attached to a long stick. Also I haven't seen any mentions about the Forum Cafeteria that was located on east 9th street where Medical Mutual of Ohio is now located. I remember going there with my parents on Sunday Holidays Like Easter. I loved the Hamburgers there also. What about Beef Coral? By the way can anyone tell me what the name of a sit down restarant on Chagrin between Avalon and Lee Road was? Was it Red Rooster Was it on the second level? Shaker Lee movies, Cassablanca Bar , Shaker Ford (my father worked there).

Default july 4 1969 storm

i am so facinated with the july 4 1969 derecho! my girlfriend Debbie Holt was only 14 yo when it struck Lakewood Park at precisely 755 pm. She said the sky got pitch black then a dirty yellow orange color with winds topping 100mph!!! A derecho it was. Lakewood was destroyed (the trees, some 5,000 of them). My Ohio license plates on my black Trans Am read "july 4 69" on them!!! Why? The people of Lakewood were so mean to me when I was growing up (ESPECIALLY the girls) that i never forgave the citizens of Lakewood for it. My opinion is that storm gave Lakewoodites what they had coming to them!!!! Anything u want 2 know about that storm just ask me i know more about it than those who went through it because i've spent my entire 33 years of my life researching that truly extrordinary event.

Things I miss about Cleveland that I remembered once I read lots of these posts:
1. Polish Boy at Coventry Pizza...they tore it down when? 1993?
2. The IRA at Tommy's
3. The hummus at Tommy's
4. The Record Exchange--I preferred the Mayfield one
5. Cafe Mocha from Miklos Coffee Bar on Lee Rd...I notice it's gone now
6. The St. Patrick's Day parade and partying at Otto Moser's
7. The Big Egg--can't believe I forgot about it!
8. West Side Market
9. The Jake
10. Berea Irish Fest
11. Geauga (I think) RenFest
