I always thought that they should have combined nickle beer night with free bat night .....now that would have been more entertaining than the old Indians!!!!

Some things I can recall:
"Gimme that shoe!" (Superhost) and the Moronic Woman
The talking Christmas Tree at either Halle's or Higbees (can't remember which); used to scare the bejeezus out of me
The Olmsted Falls library
Baked goods from Hough's - used to come in a white cardboard box, tied with string
Jingles: "Take a look at the May Company; do a double take"
Danny Boy Farmer Market on Pearl Road
Heinen's (I hated going here because my mom took forever to shop)
Shopping for back-to-school clothes at Gold Circle
The Ground Round
The Dairy Queen with the putt-putt golf course on Bagley Road

I worked at the Dairy Queen from 66-68 or so. I was there when the storm on 7/4 hit.
I remember:
Westgate when it was an outdoor mall.
Berea Theater when it was one screen. Lines for The Shaggy Dog.
Town & Country skating rink in Strongsville
Birthday party at Cleveland Athletic Club
Exchanging tickets INSIDE Cleveland Stadium for Indians games
Friday night fireworks at Indians games. The "arrow" that went back and forth.
The pouring milk bottle neon sign on Lakeshore Dr.
Pier W.
Mills cafeteria
Record Rendevous
Seeing the Beatles for the first time on Ghoulardi's lead in.
"It's Academic" was the first name before Academic Challenge.
Buying Jimi Hendrix tickets at WHK offices on a Saturday morning.
The park in Elyria with all the slides.
Jerry G alligator hunting card
Putt-putt at Southland

Wow - how interesting to read through all these old memories! Here's a few that I don't think were mentioned:
~107.9 was Power 108 when I was in junior high and when they made the changeover to 107.9, they played, "It's the end of the world as we know it" by REM for 24 hours straight. Nobody knew what was going on because they never announced that they were changing formats.
~Lawson's chip dip is still sold at the Dairy Mart stores - my Dad swears by the stuff and always has a tub of it sitting in his fridge.
~Does anyone remember when the Big Boys were kidnapped from in front of the restaurants?
~The "Bernie, Bernie" song they played everywhere in his heyday.

I used to shop at the Record Rendezvous in the Great Lakes Mall (in Newberrys). It really was the best record store, as they always had great and obscure Beatles bootlegs. Plus, you got to see the Newberry's monkey.

I believe that was Record Den (later to move across from GLM, still open---still have tons of obscure stuff, check em' out). Record Rendezvous was in Coventry and sadly just recently closed down.

Oh, yeah, you're right. Was Redezvous the seedy looking place where you would go down some steep stairs? I do remember going to a couple of places in Coventry, because, again, they had great Beatles and other bootlegs (in the days before the internet).

The first Record Rendevous I went to was on Euclid I think, just a block or two from Public Square
