Question What are your thought on Willoughby Ohio?

My husband is considering applying for a position in Willoughby. Is that a nice area to raise a family? We have relatives in NE Ohio. We currently live in Florida. My husband grew up in Northern Illinois. I have never lived out of Fl but we have been talking for quite some time about moving to a completely different climate. I am a nurse. Are there many options ? I would like to hear all of the positives and negatives!!

Willoughby is a pretty nice place. A nice historic downtown with some trendy restaurants and whatnot. But also near big box shopping as well. There are older homes near downtown, plus the 50-60 ranch type homes in addition to newer suburban-sprawl type homes (depending on your taste). It is also near highways, 25 minutes to downtown, decent schools, and reasonable taxes. Their is Lake West Hospital nearby (which is part of Cleveland Clinic).
Good luck.

I like the Willoughby area a lot. You'd be close to Lake West Hospital and also close enough to Cleveland to drive to the University Hospitals/Cleveland Clinic/etc. There is good shopping nearby with the mall in Mentor and the mall in Beachwood plus a Target in Willoughby itself. I really like the downtown area as well in Willoughby. I saw go for it, as long as all the snow doesn't bother you!

Adding that I think it is a nice place to raise a family!! And the schools are pretty good too! The negative would be NE Ohio weather- but if you are looking for a change in climate it may be just what you are looking for!
