Go with Strongsville, beautiful city, excellent schools, and only ten minutes from the airport! Strongsville has many parks, a huge state of the art recreation center, really nice indoor aquatics center, new library, community playground, ice skating arena, and even an outdoor amphitheater! There are also many community events throughout the year including the weekly farmers market, band concerts on the Commons, the Rib Burn Off, 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, Strongsville Homecoming Carnival and Parade, Pancake breakfast on the bridge, Winter Wonderland, and more! For shopping there is Southpark Mall, plus many great locally owned shops and restaurants!
You name it, Strongsville has it all!

You could even go for Brooklyn Heights, Independence, or Seven Hills. Hop on 480 and you're at the airport in 10-15 minutes. All of the above communities would suit your needs, though. They're all, at the very least, decent and safe.

Literally a 4-5 minute commute from anywhere in Berea.

Boy you are pretty lucky to actually find work at the airport especially since I just got laid off from there!

Another community that has really come a long way lately is Fairview Park. They have a lovely housing stock, a close-knit community and the city has done some beautiful updating along Lorain Road. Their new Gemini Rec Center and library and gorgeous. It is very close to the airport.

Check out Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township. Really close to all the shopping centers of North Olmsted, but with a lot less traffic. Olmsted Falls always has a great school system.

Thanks all,
We visited the west side a few weeks ago, including Westlake, Rocky River, and Bay Village. We didn't find "the one", so we're going to have to rent first. Any great sites you can recommend for listings? We'd like to broaden our search to Berea, Brook Park, Olmsted Falls, and then south to Strongsville. We're not quite concerned with school systems yet, but how is the crime, hospitals, and safety in these areas?

Try Craigslist. There are some good rental home listings there. I've found that the apartment stock is a bit lacking in the Cleveland area, especially for small families. We looked at several complexes around North Olmsted, Strongsville, Olmsted Falls before deciding on a rental home.
