312,000 pop. Pitt = 57 homicides
406,000 pop. Cleveland = 134 homicides

And it was 98 homicides for Allegheny county NOT Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh had 57 homicides.

Allegheny County 1.2 million people = 98 homicides
Cuyahoga County 1.39 million people = 170+ homicides

Pittsburgh all time high for homicides is only 81, which was early 90s.

Homicides in Allegheny County up slightly in 2007 - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

So Cleveland has SIGNIFICANTLY higher HOMICIDE rate than Pittsburgh. Just get your facts straight.

So far this year there hasnt been any homicides in Cleveland. Its been a long time since Cleveland has gone 1 week without any homicides. There has been a lot of people shot in the city and around the city and there has been drive-bys but luckily noone is dead yet. Akron had 2 homicides on the 1st I think but no more since then.

watertiger,

maybe you need your glasses fixed but i said VISITING the two cities gave me the impression of a rougher city in cincinnati....u know, SUBJECTIVELY? i specifically said someone would fight me with a stat. dont know why seeing how i indicated the stats might be against me in 07....cincy had 68 murders btw, and cleveland proper has 125,000 more ppl. get YOUR facts straight.

and cincy is rougher, clevelanders in cincy usually agree

all city stats get doctored some,...youre breaking down a city's element of danger to one simple stat that u dont even understand...have you been to cinci?? so in 06 when cincy had the 8th highest murder rate in america, higher than cleveland, was it more dangerous?

I thought we settled this a while ago. hillside is the 1st person Ive heard say that Cincinnati is worse then Cleveland. Overall Cleveland is worse crimewise and lookwise, theres people from Cincinnati on here that said that too. Cleveland is the 10th dangerous and Cincinnati is the 15th. Cincinnati is still rough but Cleveland and Youngstown are both worse than it. Pittsburgh is nowhere near the level that Cincy and Cleveland are on. Pittsburgh has a lot less murders and is doing better crimewise.

This year Cleveland is doing better at least with murders. So far the city only 1 reported murder unless theyre just not reporting them anymore. It seems like the other crimes have gone up a lot there has been a lot of assaults, robberies, and banks being robbed.

dont tell me what i know and dont know. and what you dont know is cleveland had 119 murders in 06, not the mis-reported 75 the FBI has listed. and who cares but you, i wish cleveland would be a much safer city.. you can have all that murder glory... we've had enough !
