Go to urbanohio.com/forums. also check out the pictures section.

Shaker Square is a dense neighborhood served by a rail line that connects to downtown Cleveland and the Cleveland Airport. Its is comprised of mostly middle to uppermiddleclass people. It has stores and shops along the main square with the light rail line in the middle of Shaker Boulevard. It's a diverse area, though I don't have %racial breakdowns, you'd probably see whites, blacks, Asians and some Indians. It is a 15-30 minute bus ride to University Circe which is Cleveland's cultural hub. It is a 10 minute car ride. Crime is really not an issue in the immediate vicinity but traveling 1-2 miles to the south or southwest it can get dicey. Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights, two Cleveland suburbs border Shaker Square on the East and North respectively. These are nice older garden suburbs, with Shaker Heights being the wealthier of the two.

Great job!
Thanks for the great assessment of a beautiful and wonderful neighborhood. I might add that from March through December, The Square, offers a farmers market each Saturday. Again, thankx!

MABCle, good review of Shaker Square, except that University Circle is more like a 5 minute car ride or 10 minute bus ride away. In less than 30 minutes you could ride the green line to Tower City and then ride the Red Line back to University Circle (and yes I know you could transfer at E. 55th St.).
