What are some of the things that you look for when deciding on a city to move to? (Ex: crime, jobs, etc..)

Quality of public transit.

Quality of architecture, historic and/or modern. My physical environment is important to me.

Affordability. Sure, my salary could be doubled if I moved to Manhattan from Youngstown. But that would still only get me a closet sized apartment.

If I find these three qualities in a city, I would then persue job opportunities. If there are none, then I won't be moving there.

I'm probably forgetting some things, but these items are the first that come to mind.

You're right. But it's not the only city in Ohio that does.

Walkability. Reliable and comprehensive public transit. So I can do without a car if I choose and still have a full life and not feel like a second-class citizen.

Vibrancy. Bustle. Population density high enough to support lots of cultural, recreational, shopping and entertainment amenities within a compact area.

A true cosmopolitan feel. Diversity, tolerance. A place where people from many different ethnic backgrounds have migrated into the area, each contributing its own special "flavor".

Lots of urban neighborhoods in good, healthy condition... where people who are strivers and successful choose to live.

Inspiring architecture. Adequate park space... important because it brings a little bit of nature into the city to offset the concrete, etc.

A city that has enough within its borders so that there's not much reason to travel to the suburbs for anything.
