Default Living in Avon, commuting to Case

Hello,
My family is moving to the Cleveland area, my wife will be working for Case Western University Hospital and will be commuting to the campus. We are thinking of living in Avon or Avon Lake but are really unsure about what the commute is like. Can anyone fill us in on what the commute from Avon to Case is like, is the commute drastically different in the winter vs summer, etc.? It would be great to hear from people that make a similiar commute.

Thanks,

-Steve

I just checked google map they say about 40min,. I'd say at least 40 min or more. I live in Lakewood and I'm 40 min away using the shore way (6). I used to commute from Amherst to downtown. Amherst is 10 min further West of Avon. The freeway (I 90) is 3 lanes starting at Avon (rt 83), you get some 4 lane even 5 lanes downtown. To go to Case you have to get off at Chester Ave downtown and drive 3 miles on a surface street. That will suck. I 90 is the easiest freeway to use into downtown of all of them (77,71,90e). In the winter or if there is an accident you can double the time but only about 10 times a year, at least lets hope. The hard part will be from nearing the downtown area(the inner belt) to University Circle (Case).
For me personally that would be a tough drive, but people do it everyday and in other cities that would be nothing. But then I live in Lakewood and drive 15 min to downtown.
