Does Wrightsville Beach have any type of boardwalk? Or food/bars within walking distance?

There's no boardwalk at Wrightsville Beach but there are several bars and restaurants and most are within walking distance assuming you are staying near the center part of the island.

I'm actually staying in Wilmington for 2 days. We are driving to Wrightsville and spending the day there each day. I was hoping there would be at least some kind of food within walkking distance.

There isn't a boardwalk, but the area around Lumina and Causeway has several bars and restaurants, and an independent grocery, I think. Similarly around E Salisbury, at Johnny Mercer's Pier.

When you say Lumina and Causeway- do you mean the streets? I'm going to be putting the locations into my gps so just wnated to make sure I did it correct. :-)

Is Johnny Mercer's pier the same pier from Dawsons Creek? Sorry stupid question, I know.

Johnny Mercers Pier and the beach bars/restaurants are not close. They are walkable, depending on your drive. Oceanic and Bluewater are both good places to eat

There is no boardwalk, there is a place that has a least 6 restaurants/bars that is in between the bridges. Just be sure to take lots of quarters with you to feed the meters, $2/hr! if you park in one of the lots i think you can get away with $12/day though if you buy a day pass from the start. Be prepared, especially if you're here on a weekend because lots do fill up fast!

Oceanic is just ok food, but you can sit out on a pier over the beach, which is nice. Best seafood I've had in the area though has to be Yacht Basin Provision Co. down in Southport, it's a bit of a drive but SOOOO good. IMHO down at Wrightsville they seem to be catering to tourists so the food is usually over priced for what you get.

There are also restaurants across the ICW leading into WB...Dockside, etc.

Several options on WB...Trolley Stop, Robert's Grocery, Oceanic, South Beach and some other small places I can't think of right now.

I agree completely. Dockside used to be a great place to go eat, now it's so over priced I just stopped going. $13 crab dip appetizer, $5 hotdog. No thanks.
