We are thinking of coming that way on Saturday from Raleigh area. Any input on what to see or do? We have kids, ages 4 and 7. Do they do anything like river boat tours at all?

Google is your friend.. found this after typing in things to do in new bern nc.. Convention & Visitors Center - New Bern, NC - Home. I would definitly go to tryon palace then go eat at moores ole tyme bbq. Go check out the croatan national forest if you have time or cruise around pamlico county and spend some time in oriental. For a free river boat ride take the ferry Bayview-Aurora or Cherry Branch-Minnesott Beach in pamlico county. The link is here http://www.ncdot.org/ferry/
