Please note our TOS do not allow anyone to advertise in Forums as it would become one big classified ad system - and that is not our intent with this site. There are thousands of Realtors and businesses in every city and we cannot let City-Data become a free-for-all with everyone trying to gain prospects. We are believers in the Realtor profession, but the site has very clear TOS and we ask everyone to stay within the TOS.

The site doesn't allow advertising in the forums, nor trolling for clients. Please avoid writing things like "DM / call me for more info" as that is considered trolling for clients; we cut out that set of remarks or delete the posting. Infractions may be given; too many infractions and a poster is banned.

Our Forums are heavily moderated as our vision is to keep this a top quality go-to site for people seeking both hard data and personal opinions on where to live. We moderate constantly to keep out flamers, trolls, bigots, spammers and other unsavory characters. We sincerely want a visit to city-data to be pleasant and useful for everyone.

The Classified Ads Forum only accepts ads from private owners.

You may add a full business profile with all your data at: Business Profile Addition. These are free.

People seeking your professional services can find you via your public profile. Be sure you have your Realtor website and email data in your personal profile so people can get in touch. The Direct Message (DM) feature in your account settings needs to be set to "ON" so people can reach you.

Placing your email (and other contact data) in the body of your posting is considered advertising and will be deleted. Be aware that our website is open to web robots that scan sites to harvest email addresses which are sold to spammers. Keeping contact data in your profile, not in your posts, helps you avoid spam.

If you want to send a DM to a poster to offer your services, that's fine, but we ask that you send only one unsolicited DM. We've banned people for abusing the DM function.

Please post all the info you wish about your region or other topics of interest, that's our main goal with this site, people helping people with advice about "what its like" in an area. Your Realtor code of ethics may limit the amount of negative info you can post, but we have plenty of non-realtors on here who can do that.

We have a User Group for the Realtors. Joining this group changes your user title to "Real Estate Agent" (instead of junior member, senior member, etc) and you will have a Realtor icon displayed next to your user name on all your posts. This alerts potential clients that you're an agent, and they'll contact you via your profile without your needing to mention it in your posting. None of your other account features will change. There is no charge to 'join' this group.

Join this usergroup by clicking on "My Settings" and "Group Memberships" and select "Join Group." Then make sure to select "Identify me as a member of this group" next to "Real Estate Agents" and "Update Display Group."

There is also a forum set aside for Realtors to discuss various aspects of their profession.

Again, thank you for joining City-Data, we hope to see you in the Forums.
