October is my FAVORITE time to be on the Outer Banks I say go for it!!

Plus, weather.com says the weather will be great - mid 50's at night, mid 60's in the daytime with lots of sun

Awesome photo Mullman.

October is a great time - tourist season is over and it will be a bit quieter, but still nice enough to be out and about.

A great time to go. You can almost smell the fish in the air and the crowds are gone..

Lovely time to visit the Outer Banks - although really, anytime is lovely at the Outer banks. The fall is especially nice, though. Just remember, it is still hurricane season - so have a plan B

I have done this trip years ago... and have friends that do it often. Fishing is supposed to be good this time of year. The surf is good too if you can get a calm swell (no hurricanes please). However, my parents were in Emerald Isle this past weekend and there wasn't any good seafood to be found.... odd. I was at Emerald Isle last year at this time and the Blues and Spanish were running for surf/pier fishing.... loads of fun. Don't know how that translates to the OB though. Go for it... it is absolutely beautiful.
