Default All-Inclusive Resort

Have any of you taken your family to an all-inclusive resort like Beaches? If so, do you recommend it? Any particular place that's great or should be avoided? Any place that's particularly good for the money? Our kids are 12 and 10, so we're less interested in child care and more interested in lots of things for them to do.

Any information is appreciated. Thanks!

I know that friends of mine have gone to the FDR resort in jamaica for a couple of years now. Of course, each kid is given a nanny, but they do have lots of kids activities, and it is an all inclusive resort. It is considered a "family" resort, so it definitely caters to parents with kids.

I checked the website, I don't think it is all inclusive, is it??

It looks cool, mostly if it is all inclusive.

We've taken our 10-yr old daughter to all-inclusive resorts for the past 4 years. 2 in Mexico and 2 in the Dominican Republic(Punta Cana), Our upcoming trip is in 2 weeks(to the Dominican)

We LOVE all-inclusives and our daughter prefers them much more than Disney.

For the 3 of us we can typically go for a week for under $3000.(including air). TONS of things for the kids to do, even beyond the kids-clubs(our daughter does not really like the kids-clubs ..she prefers to hang with us). But kids that do go to the kids clubs/organized activities seem to have a blast.

THe ones we have liked are:
Mexico: Ibersotar Lindo (lazy river, wave-pool, etc.)
Barcelo Maya Colonial(TERRIFIC water-park right at the resort, awesome beach and pier for fishing/snorkeling etc.) mini-golf

Dominican Republic: Sunscape the Beach(ocean trampoline, climbing iceberg in the pool/ocean, HUGE pool spanning the entire resort, beach soccer/volleyball etc.)
Majestic Colonial(more low-key, but fantastic pool and great beach)

GOOD LUCK!
