Question long island ny to wilmington area question

It is getting so populated and taxes are out of control that my husband and I can not afford it here anymore. We have friends that live in wilmington and they love it. We do not want to move to another busy area but need to stay near there for jobs. I was looking at hampstead and topsail. We are planning on having children and we want a great school for them. Anyone have an idea as to which area would be better for that? Or maybe another area close to there that is equally solid on education? Thanks for any help.
Mella

I live in Baltimore, MD and I am considering a move for the same reasons.

I'd be really interested in any comments.
