We are looking at areas near wilmington but we have questions about fire departments. Or jobs along the same field.

My husband is in a volunteer heavy rescue company and has been for years. He is also part of the brookhaven technical task force which deal with shoring up collapses, and trench and anything else they are called for.

This is a big part of who he is and I want him to do something he loves. He doesn't want to be EMT so training for that is out...I've asked. Is there anywhere that has a great department or field that lets him do this volunteer or paid? That doesn't require EMT course?

Or any ideas where to look to find anything out. People have been so helpful on this site that I would appreciate any type of help.

Thanks so much
Mella

There are a lot of different governments in the area. I know that the municipalities and towns all have fire departments. I assume the counties do as well.
I'd do a google search for:
City of Wilmington
New Hanover County
Pender County
Brunswick County
Town of Carolina Beach
Town of Wrightsville Beach
Town of Kure Beach
Town of Leland

I don't understand exactly what your husband does, but these governments have a wide variety of positions. You could also check out the state port of NC.

Thanks so much. At least there are some ideas I can look at now. He is a volunteer but he does everything he can learn in his department.

Some people were born to do things and he was born to be a fireman whether its volunteer or not. So thank you for the help I will definitly look into all those.
