Hi, Merry Christmas to all. We just moved to Fayetteville. I want to take my daughter to visit some interesting places in this area during the holiday. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You HAVE to go to the Museum of the Cape Fear and see the Poe House.

There's the Airborne & Special Ops Museum downtown. Although it's a "military" museum, it's very interesting to us civilians too!

How old is your daughter??? There's a children's museum downtown.

You're too late to see the special church programs, such as the Singing Christmas Tree at Snyder Baptist Church.

For New Year's, there's First Night in Raleigh. They do an acorn drop at midnight, but they do a drop, I think at 7:30 or 8pm for the kids. There are dozens of events at several venues, all downtown. You pick the ones you want to see, check your times, and just have at it. It's VERY fun, IMO.

My mind's going blank....but I know there's a lot more. Check the Fayetteville Observer Friday---the Weekender Section in there lists all these events and more!
