That's about it. Maybe if a real estate agent or two kicks the bucket you'll have an opening. You could always fish.

Dude, if you're looking for a job before you go there then you don't belong there. Ocracoke is just a dot. There isn't much of anything there. The hospitality industry is just about all that's there. And there isn't anything but sand, birds and water "near by".

Waiting tables, or fishing commercial/with tourist. Unless you can get a job with NPS or USCG

jobs? on ocracoke?

you havent been there, have you???????????

OI is my most favorite spot in the world, but unless you are a business OWNER who can weather a dead down season, you most likely won't find much other than temporary (read summer) jobs waiting tables or working in a shop.

And I am unsure about Ocracoke, but on the rest of the Outer Banks, there is a HUGE influx of summer workers from (eastern) Europe. So there is even a smaller chance.

MAYBE you could work with a real estate company. But even that is slim picking, due to the number

When I was a kid, granted that wasn't too long ago, my family used to take an annual vacation to the OBX for two weeks. I never remember seeing any Eastern Europeans working at any of the resturants, clothing stores, or surf shops. Maybe they were at the bars?

When did the influx of Eastern Europeans start coming to the OBX? Also, who sponsors all of these Eastern Europeans? Business owners? Why would a business owner go through the hassle of hiring a foreigner when you have plenty of unemployed people on the OBX and Eastern NC to choose from?
