So,we had a snowstorm 1-2x a week since Dec.26...for a grand total as of today 2/9/11 135 inches! This is NOT usual,as up here in Mass. it's 60-100 inches ALL winter (Dec-Mar) Now I am planning on moving to N.Carolina in June and I read it snows there often???Is it normal to get much snow down there?Well It's gotta be warmer there then here which is 10 warming up this weekend to 40.

No-Snow is not a usual event for coastal NC. 3-4 years can by without a single flake.

Yeah, don't count on it not snowing. Weather ebbs and flows. All though the previous decade warmer temps were the rule. Each winter we've been here since 2006 has been colder and colder. This past December was the third coldest for North Carolina. On the plus side, so far this Feb has been the warmest. This seems to be a trend with very cold Decembers and warm Februarys.

You can see all kinds of interesting trends here...

even here, weve had more snow in dec/jan than we usually get all year. hopefully no more!!!

it was crazy looking at the webcams and the pics our friends sent! some other friends up on ocracoke sent pics of their storm and that was even wilder!
