Hi, I'm pretty clueless about Wilmington neighborhoods and there's a house for rent in between what looks like on Google maps between the Ardmore and Manhattan neighborhoods. I like downtown areas with old houses and I'm not one to overly worry about people's crime fears (I live in Durham, used to live in St. Petersburg, FL, went to school in Newark, NJ and lived in NYC). But - I also don't want to actually endanger myself, so I don't want to totally discount people's opinions about crime either

I'm going to drive by the property maybe this weekend but thought I'd post.

Looks like there are a lot of houses w/fenced yards for rent there! Many more than in the Triangle area. My dog thanks you for that.

most people call it Carolina Place. I haven't heard it called Ardmore or Manhattan, but I do see those listed on Google Maps.

I would say crime is "moderate" for this area. You aren't going to get shot in the face, but you wouldn't want to leave a bicycle in your front yard, or your car unlocked, either. You can walk around at night, i reckon, but IMO that's going to catch up to you eventually.
