Another shooting in Greenville, NC a street over from ECU's campus...this is becoming all too frequent. And, it does not appear the city or it's citizens have any answers. This needs to be remedied and fast.

Police question witnesses in downtown shooting | Eyewitness News 9

Story summary from WITN:

Authorities say three people were shot in Greenville on Sunday morning.

Lawmen say at 3 on Sunday morning Greenville Police responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot located at East 4th Street and Reade Circle.

At that location, lawmen found Jeffrey Staton of Greenville and Terrance Grimes of Ayden with gunshot wounds. Kiesha Wilkins of Colerain contacted police at the scene a short time later advising that she also had been shot at that location.

Lawmen say an altercation at the Club Phoenix led to the shooting.

Staton and Grimes were transported to the Pitt County Memorial Hospital where their conditions are unknown. Wilkins injuries were very minor and did not require transport to the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.

We are the only "big city" around. So we bring in all walks of life. It looks like only one Greenville resident was involved.

Club Phoenix is a nasty place. It used to be The Attic for the older people. I know of no one who goes there anymore (i.e. only older, non-students etc etc go there).
