What is it with all of the news casters and calling it, "The" Bogue Banks. Even the local TV news reporters are throwing in the "The".
You don't call it "The" Morehead City or "The" Beaufort.
It's called "Bogue Banks"! Leave off the "The".
I'm surprised they called it Bogue Banks at all and not "Crystal Coast". Not by local news, but I did hear Bogue Pier being refrenced as being on Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, and Pine Knoll Shores depending on who was talking about it. Also peopel pointing at Beaufort and saying MHC and vice versa, or pointing at Harkers Island and calling it either of the above.
You can find all of the above listed names on a map, except one-Crystal Coast. Our tourism folks haven't caught on after 20 plus years of promoting the Crystal Coast and no one knows where it is.
