Thanks Bill, I can see that there is a good choice of rentals in Beaufort, Morehead City and Emerald Isle. However, the OP will still have to contact someone about whether they accept dogs. Do realtors have the capability to search on the "pet policy"?

They will have to boot my message too.

This is what I'd recommend. Find all of the places you think might work for you. Contact my wife, Margaret through the system. That way she'll have the listing numbers. She in turn will be your one contact person as she will deal with the plethora of agencies. She'll find out the pet friendly info (and any other info you might need) and get back with you. In short you deal with one person while that one person deals with all the other agencies.
It's as simple as that.
Bill

Again, thank you all so much for the input.

Mac, okay, now I feel a little better - and you hit it right on the nose with SD. I wasn't looking at the same site you posted but the one you provided gives me a better idea.

Bill - thanks a ton for the website, I will totally look at the rental properties on the webiste.

Golden - wow, you're amazing. Thank you so much for the Stones Bay photos you provided. That is an immense amount of help. There was nothing on their website with actual photos that I could find and I keep missing the office calls. It's so nice to visually see what it is, and that was just so incredibly kind of you, thank you. Stones Bay should hire you. PR is your calling.

Again, thank you all so much. You have been a huge amount of help, and I really appreciate it.

"Moving to the Jacksonville area but don't have a clue!!"

Perfect, exactly how I feel.

Thanks Mac, looking at all these threads now. Again, very helpful.

You're welcome. It was no problem as I was headed to the bank nearby, and I was curious about the complex anyway. I have been in Sneads Ferry for 6 months, and I welcome neighbors. I hope the year-round people moving in will create a demand for better shopping and restaurants. We have all the basics, but I would like a more sophisticated selection of food stores, coffee shops, etc.
