Irene victims slow to seek aid
"There are a lot of people out there that don't trust us," Hoell told the committee, which met for two hours in Raleigh on Thursday. One barrier, Hoell said, is a requirement that everyone registering with FEMA fill out an application for a low-interest SBA loan, even if they don't want a loan or know they can't qualify for one. RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- More than $38 million in state and federal aid has been approved to help the residents of 35 North Carolina counties recover from Hurricane Irene.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency said Friday that more than 30,000 people have contacted it for help or information about disaster assistance, many because their home has been destroyed or damaged.

FEMA says more than 7,700 households have received FEMA grants for temporary housing or to help replace personal property. Almost $19 million has been approved for housing grants.

So I should be crying? It is their choice. If you have to stand in a line to get food. You stand in line to get food. Same for filling out paper work. It is what you have to do. Looks like others had no problem with it. So, October 31st. They will be crying FEMA did not help us. I say "Tough" !!! You had your chance. And yes I will sleep well tonight knowing that.
