You may wish to check out Moyock or farther south is Edenton and Herford or you can go all the way to Pamlico County and check out Oriental but watch out for lowlying areas as they got hit hard by Irene back in August.

We have been going to OBX twice a year for nearly twenty years. We both are quite familiar with NH, KDH & KW. We do not wish to live in those areas. This is why we are thinking of Manteo, Stumpy Point & Wanchese. We also do not want to live in the Southern area such as Buxton etc. Ocracoke might be a consideration. We do like Edenton but it is pricey. We have also been to Hertford. Thanks for the replies.
