Default Where to Buy Fresh Local Pecans?

I live in Sneads Ferry, near Jacksonville, and checked the Food Lion to see if they would carry local pecans. The produce man say no, because small farmers can't produce the quantity required to supply the chain's warehouse operation. So they get pecans from some agribusiness, which is a shame.

At any rate, can anyone recommend a place to buy local NC (SC or GA also OK) pecans in the shell?

We have three trees and Irene decimated our pecans this year. Not that we sell commercially, but it could be a tough year for local pecans.

I have bought pecans for years from Sunnyland Farms in Albany, Georgia.

I buy the the mammoth halves in the economical box. Shipping is included in their prices.

I've never tried Sunnyland cakes ... I like Claxton Fruit Cakes from Claxton, Georgia. I have a friend that moved here from Claxton and she said that is the only thing in Claxton and been in business since 1910.

I did buy pecan logs from Sunnyland last year to give as gifts and they were good. I like to do the roasted pecans gifts for my neighbors ... when I can keep hubby out of them.

We've got fresh pecans available for purchase.
Up until today, we were only offering them in the shell.
However, we've decided to offer a limited amount for sale of our Monster Meaties shelled halves.
If you would like more info, pop us a message and we can send you the link.

Default Goldsboro

I usually stop in Goldsboro to buy pecans when I make one of my trips north. There is a gas station/bait shop called EZ tackle where they buy pecans from local growers and bag and sell them by the pound. It's located on the southbound lanes of Hwy 117, a bit south of Arrington Bridge road. The uncracked pecans were $2 a pound when I bought them Sunday.
